Elva P. (Spade) Judy, 87, of Crystal Spring, PA, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. Born to the late Ross E. and Mary J. (Hess) Spade. Elva was a beloved figure to her family.
A proud 1956 graduate of Warfordsburg High School, Elva pursued her passion for cosmetology at Tri-State Beauty College. This led to a career spanning over fifty years as the owner and operator of Elva's Beauty Salon, where she built lasting relationships with her clients.
On July 27, 1960, in Cumberland, MD, Elva was united in marriage to William Carl Judy, with whom she shared fifty-five years of adventure and devotion until his passing on March 3, 2016. Together, they shared a love for the open road as active members of the Honda Club in Chambersburg, enjoying many miles together on their motorcycle.
Elva was a woman of many talents and simple joys. In her earlier years, she enjoyed gardening and a lifelong love for flowers. She was perhaps most famous within her family for her Sunday dinners, where her cooking brought everyone together. She grew up associated with the McKendree Church.
She is survived by her nephew, Kevin Spade; great-nephew, Devin Spade (married to Genny Stevens); great-nieces, Krystal Spade and Kalei Spade; and great-great-nieces, Kynslee and Brookelynn. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul L. Spade.
